My story and approach

Past experiences can impact you in different ways, causing you to feel stuck or develop habits that no longer serve you. Maybe you find yourself isolating from your friends, spinning in your thoughts, or frozen by fear or apathy.

If you are overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings, or feel alone, maybe it's time to connect with a caring professional. Therapy with me is a supportive space to slow down, feel more grounded, and be more connected with yourself, your friends, and your life again. We'll move forward at your pace, together.

I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional loneliness. Together we'll create a space in which you feel safe, supported, and accepted.

We'll practice being aware of our bodies and emotions, understand the urges to attack or hide, and move toward a life that is aligned with your core values.

If you're ready to take that first step and create a life that feels more manageable, please reach out for a brief consult. You won't have to carry this alone.

What therapy with me looks like

We move at your pace. There's no version of this you have to keep up with.

We pay attention to what your body and emotions are telling you.

We get curious about the urge to attack or to hide, instead of judging it.

We aim at a life aligned with your core values, not just fewer symptoms.

Outside the office

Creativity and connection are essential.

I believe creativity and connection are essential for our well-being. Outside of the office, I love to be with my dogs, create art, hike in nature, listen to live music, travel, and be anywhere with my friends and family.

You look fine on the outside and feel alone underneath it.

Individual counseling

Individual sessions, weekly or every other week, for adults and teens working through anxiety, burnout, grief, emotional loneliness, or a transition that reshaped things. We'll build practical skills and a clearer sense of what you actually want your life to look like.

Format: in person or virtual · Ages: teens, adults, and older adults (65+)

A loose circle of comfortable mismatched chairs in a bright, sunlit group room

Group counseling

Skills and connection in a small group, where the relief often comes from realizing you're not the only one.

Format: in person · Size: small, closed groups

The approaches behind the work

CBT: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Noticing the thoughts that shape how you feel and act, then testing whether they're actually true. Practical, structured, and useful between sessions.

ACT: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Making room for hard feelings instead of fighting them, while still moving toward what matters most to you.

DBT: Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Concrete skills for riding out intense emotions, tolerating distress, and staying steady in relationships.

RO-DBT: Radically Open DBT

For people who hold themselves tightly. If you're controlled, careful, and quietly exhausted, RO-DBT loosens overcontrol and builds real openness and connection.

Trauma-focused and person-centered care

Past experience is taken seriously, at a pace you set, with you leading. I also draw on emotionally focused, experiential, interpersonal, motivational interviewing, and strength-based work.

Rates

Individual sessions are $130. Private pay is welcome, and you'll receive a Good Faith Estimate upon request.

Insurance

I'm in network with a number of Ohio plans, including AmeriHealth, Anthem, Buckeye, CareSource, Humana, Medical Mutual, Medicare, Ohio Medicaid, UnitedHealthcare, and VA coverage. Plan details vary, so reach out and we'll confirm yours before your first session.

Getting started

The first step is smaller than it feels.

Nothing to prepare. No right words to find. Here's exactly what happens.

1

Book a free consult

Fifteen minutes, no cost. Call (513) 951-8531 or book online, whichever feels easier.

2

Schedule your first session

A comprehensive assessment of your mental health history, in person at the Reading Road office or virtually from wherever you are in Ohio.

3

Begin regular sessions

Weekly or every other week, at a pace you set. We adjust as things change.

What the first session is like

You don't need the right words or a tidy version of the story. The first session includes a comprehensive assessment of your mental health history, including your current concerns, past treatment, and the experiences and supports that shape your life. We'll also talk about what brought you in, what you want to feel different, and how we'd work together.

What to expect from me

  • Steady, warm, and direct. I'll tell you what I'm noticing.
  • Collaborative. You set the direction; I bring structure and skills.
  • Practical. You'll leave most sessions with something to try.
  • Honest about fit. If someone else is a better match, I'll say so and help you find them.

Common questions

How often will we meet?

Most people come weekly at first, then move to every other week as things settle.

In person or virtual?

Either. In person at 7162 Reading Road, Suite 720 in Cincinnati, or secure video anywhere in Ohio. You can mix the two.

Do you take my insurance?

I'm in network with a number of Ohio plans, including AmeriHealth, Anthem, Buckeye, CareSource, Humana, Medical Mutual, Medicare, Ohio Medicaid, UnitedHealthcare, and VA coverage. Plan details vary, so reach out and we'll confirm yours before the first session. Individual sessions are $130 for private pay.

What if I've never done therapy before?

That's common, and it's fine. You don't have to know how this works or what to call what you're feeling. We'll start wherever you are.

How will I know if it's working?

We'll name what you want to be different early on and check in on it out loud. Progress usually shows up in small, specific ways before it feels dramatic.

Do you work with teens and older adults?

Yes. I provide counseling for teens, adults, and older adults (65+). Reach out to discuss which individual or group options fit your needs.

For referring partners

Referring a client to me

  1. Send them my scheduling link, or reach out and I'll follow up with them directly.
  2. I confirm contact and get them scheduled for an initial appointment.
  3. With a signed release, I can stay in appropriate communication with your team about their care.

Getting started together

How a partnership begins

  1. A short intro call about your organization and who you serve.
  2. We shape the scope, audience, format, and location together.
  3. A simple written agreement, then scheduling.
  4. We deliver, then check in on what's working and what to adjust.

Partner questions

Can you come to our site?

Yes. Education sessions, groups, and scheduled counseling can all happen at your location, virtually, or at my office.

Do you work with our staff, our clients, or both?

Both. Staff education and client services are separate offerings and can run independently or together.

How long is a typical education session?

Most run 45–90 minutes and are built around your group's size and the time you have.

Is this clinical treatment or training?

Education sessions are non-clinical training. Counseling and groups are clinical services with their own intake process.

What does it cost?

It depends on scope and format. We settle that in the intro call and put it in writing before anything begins.

How do we protect client privacy?

Any information sharing is release-based and spelled out in the agreement before services start.

Let's talk about your organization.

A twenty-minute call is usually enough to know whether this is a fit and what it would look like.
